I am easily pleased. That’s the truth. I don’t ask for too much but just a quiet time for me when I need to hear myself think and some pampering here and there. Right now I have lodge furniture in mind, a fireplace, a good book and a blanket, and some peace and quiet. That will be bliss for sure!

If you live with a couple of people under one roof, trust me, you get the urge to find a rock where you can hide under so you can tune out the noise that gives you a splitting headache! A day away somewhere. That’s what I want now.

I do wish I can. But with a kid to take care of and work that needs your constant presence or else…

anna rexia halloween costume

costume-anorexia

I can’t imagine what the person who created this costume was thinking of. Can you imagine yourself wearing a costume that pokes fun at Anorexia? That was clearly the intent of the Anna Rexia Halloween costume. It features a black dress with a skeleton painted on it and a tape measure at the waist. The heart on the chest says “Anna Rexia.”

Totally inappropriate considering there are so many women out there battling this eating disorder, struggling and some are losing battle as I write this post.

I do wish people can be more sensitive to issues that women are facing all over the world.

Talks about love… and then some. It’s now talks about settling down and babies!

My friends and I were talking about the baby boom among our other friends. Talks came down to maternity clothes and how those are now fashionable whereas before you just buy a large dress and that’s it. We discussed getting pregnant out of wedlock versus getting pregnant already wed. We also touched on the mortality rate of marriages nowadays.

It was a chaotic discussion filled with wonderful insights of the different stages of a woman’s life. How I wish I could have recorded it and kept it for future reference.

With all the talks about love and seeing as to how happy my friend is, thoughts of finding the right one came to mind again. I told my best friend about it and she suggested I try out and start with a free dating online site. And I said, why not? There is more to gain and nothing to lose!

I haven’t been around the dating scene for years. I’ve been so focused on work I forgot to tend to my love life. But this time around, I think I will try to shift some of my focus to finding the right man for me. Someone who can take care of me and love me for who and what I am.

I was once a teen and I know the feeling of wanting to grow up fast and step out into the world to work and become independent from the parents. But I am only talking about studying hard so I could graduate right away to work. These days, teens are growing at a faster rate. Physically. Look at this 15-year-old Kendall Jenner, younger half-sister to reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

kendall-jenner

The teen celebrity looked so grown up with her glammed-up look! But in her first photo where she was fresh-faced, she still looks like her 15-year-old self. Kendall is just an example of teens who are trying to age their looks and not enjoying the youth that so many adults are trying to get back.

All teenaged girls like to grow up and become a woman so fast that I don’t think they are enjoying their youth anymore. And when they turn 40, 50, 60, they try to get back the youth they already left behind. Sigh.

Enjoy what you have now. Those young taut skin and fresh look will be gone soon.

There was a time that I was good friends with this person. I don’t really know her that much but just through the web. Anyway, I’ve seen her a few times in person and have spent time with her and other friends. There was no bad blood between us but I grew tired of talking to her. You know why?

All she did was ask about things and would go back to being quiet. She would emerge once again to ask about something and then would retreat to being quiet. It became a cycle and I grew tired of it.

Can you blame me for feeling used and bailing out on her?

Marissa needs a job. She has been asking my help and I told her to get one that will be easy for her. Like Medical Transcriptionist Jobs. It will be easy for her because she graduated with a medical degree particularly in Physical Therapy. The medical transcriptionist job is in line with what she knows and have experience working on.

Marissa is one of those individuals who cannot decide for herself. She needs someone to push her to do something or else she won’t know what to do. I am one of the people around her who tries to help her get on with her life.

Penny is getting black rhino rims for her husband. She knows he’s been pining for one for a while now and since she got her commission from a deal she closed, she thought of surprising him with it.

Penny indulges her husband from time to time. The same thing that her husband indulges her from time to time, actually more like all the time. She knows that whatever she wants and her husband knows about it, as soon as he has enough funds to cover the amount, he goes out of his way to give it to her.

Marriage is a two-way street. Give and take. Penny and her husband know that.

I have a grand aunt who is a closet gay. A lesbian who dresses and acts in a tomboyish way but never acknowledged or confessed that she is one.

She’s in her late 60′s now and I don’t think it’s still necessary for her to come out. She’s happy with the way she is and we all love her and accept her for who and what she is. There was never any doubt about that.

My purpose for writing about her is that I just can’t imagine how it was for people like her in the past. Gay people who couldn’t very well tell anybody about themselves for fear of discrimination. Worse, being disowned by their conservative parents. My grandaunt is the youngest in a family of mostly women so you can just imagine how it was for her to see her older sisters being so girlish while she wore her clothes and (in my mind) resented being made to wear the same. I don’t think it ever crossed her mind to tell her parents or siblings about her situation. I don’t think such a thing was ever thought of in the past. It was a no-no, a death wish if you must.

I haven’t asked her, nor have I any wish to do so, about her situation. I think it was easy for her considering she was accepted for who and what she is without questions asked. Sure, she has no wish to acknowledge her true self but she’s able to live a life that where her true self never had to hide.

I think that’s more than enough for someone like my grandaunt.

Chloe adheres to her bath rituals regardless of the state she’s in when she gets home. She can be bone tired from work but she will still go on and do her rituals inside the bathroom. She will sprinkle bath salts in the bath tub and soak for at least ten minutes in warm scented water. She loves it. Her body craves for it. Then she will rub moisturizer to her whole body after her soak in the tub.

The ritual relaxes her mind and body. It takes away the stress from work that she brings home with her whether she likes it or not. When her head hits the pillow, she is sure to achieve slumber because she is now in a state of relaxation. There is already calm and peace in her mind and body.

Sadie has an agreement with her three aunts. She will help them file for and get their immediate annuities and in return, her three aunts will take turns playing full-time nanny and guardian to her kid while she’s pursuing a dream. Her kid is already ten years old and she will be away for a very brief spell only. Since she doesn’t want to leave her kid to just anybody, she thought she might as well choose her three aunts to act as parents to her kid while she’s away.

Each of her aunts is actually volunteering for the ‘job’ for the whole duration of her trip. But she doesn’t want to burden anyone in particular and the stay with her three aunts will not be that heavy since her kid will stay at least a week only with each of her aunts. And before they know it, she’ll be back from her trip.

I thought I was dreaming when I saw this blog’s PR just now. It now has a green on the toolbar!

Woohoo!!!

PR 1, baby! Yeah!

Remember when I wrote about how happy I was when this blog’s previous gray bar turned to zero? Well now imagine that kind of happiness doubled because of the green I’m seeing…

Thank You, Lord, for the blessing!

Happy weekend (indeed!) everyone!

;)

…and you really need to fund an emergency expense, there are payday advances you can avail of.

I know some people find it hard to budget their money. I personally found myself in the same situation many times in the past, when funds were not enough. I would find myself short on my budget and with a very important expense missed out. What I did was turn to others for financial help. But it got embarrassing after a while.

You need not experience the same thing. Go ahead and make use of payday advances when you find yourself short on cash and the payday is still a few days away.

Kids at the Beach

The kid in me would like to go to the beach. NOW. I want to feel the sand under my feet. The heat of the sun on my body. Hear the water lapping the shore.

NOW. I want to go there now…

If only I could. But there’s a typhoon and even without it, there are tons of work to do.

Thank you, Lord, for this blog is finally back in the good graces of the god of the internet! The gray bar is no longer hugging this blog’s rank! Ode to Adrienne is finally a PR zero!

Not much, you might say. But I’ve been worrying a lot about the gray bar for the past couple of months. I didn’t know what I did be penalized like that but all I can say is that I worked hard to keep up and update this blog and hopefully (then) be recognized by the big G of the net to give me back a rank. Even a zero would do and here it is!

Thank you! ;)

I am now more inspired to update this blog. Expect more entries in the days to come…

Paula loves to be called a homemaker. She loves being wife and mother. She loves taking care of her husband and their twins. She loves to fuss over them and shower them with love.

Lately, she’s into cooking and baking for her family. She watches videos online and copies them. So far, she’s had four successes. Her husband and five-year-old twins love all the dishes she prepares for them. During one such successful meal, Paula asked her husband if they can have an undermount sink in the kitchen rather than the old-fashioned one they have. Her husband immediately said yes.

Can you imagine how inspired Paula is now that she sees how much her family appreciates her efforts?

I am reminded of a really great person when I saw cigar specials online. He is my mentor and friend. He was a terror boss but when you look past the plastered scowl on his face, he is actually a cuddly bear (not that I cuddled him or anything!). He acknowledges the hours you are putting at work. And the things you do beyond what is asked of you.

After office hours, when he was done being stressed out over shipments, he would laugh and joke with the employees still in the office. He was known to be generous with giving out bonuses, especially to those whom he thought deserved it. One thing everyone will surely remember about him apart from those things in the office was that he loved smoking cigars!

The issue regarding the biological mother of a child will not end unless the dna experts will weigh in on it. The child is actually adopted by our neighbor when she was a day old. Her biological mother was only 16 when she gave birth and didn’t want her parents to know what happened so she immediately called up a friend’s mom and told her she wanted to put the baby up for adoption. Our neighbor never saw the mother of the child. She was not given any details about her as per her request.

Now years later, the child already 6 years of age, the biological mother wants her child back. According to her, she realized her mistake and wants to do what is right now. But our neighbor is not so sure about the motives of the girl. She wants to be sure she is the biological mother and since they can’t locate the one to whom she dealt with regarding the adoption, our neighbor wants a DNA test to confirm everything.

Once confirmed that she’s the biological mom, she will allow her visitation rights but she won’t give up the child.
