I didn’t know how talented my cousin May is until I saw the beaded jewelry that she finished for a customer of hers. I was at my aunts when I chanced upon my cousin May in her bedroom with her jewelry beads supply and doing that bracelet for a customer. She told me the customer ordered a dozen of the bracelets that she will give to her ballet dancers to wear. Impressive, I tell you!

I think I need to spend more time with my younger cousins. I keep forgetting that they are no longer kids but are actually teenagers growing up so fast one minute they’re as high as my waist, the next minute they are taller than me! See, I didn’t even know we have a talented Miss May in the family.

One of my girl friends opened up a convenience store of her own. It is a medium-sized store that she opened a block away from where she lives. Last week, I spend the night at the store with two more of our girl friends. We helped our friend put the Slatwall in a corner of her store where she will be putting some stack of papers and magazines. We were so happy to be helping her out that we ended up spending the night at the store and going home at past seven in the morning already. It was so much fun it felt like a pajama party more than a help in arranging her store.

We will spend this coming Thursday night at her store again to help her prepare for her store opening on Friday. Can’t wait!

I feel like applauding Victoria Beckham for setting an example to women of the world for being a very fashionable woman but at the same time a doting mother to her brood. Many women out there including Jennifer Aniston (as suggested by reports about her) don’t want to get pregnant because they think it will destroy their figure and the image they are projecting. Which is bull because look at Victoria, she’s back to her old shape in no time and you can still see her as a businesswoman and fashion icon separate from her being a mom.

We need more women like her and Heidi Klum who always looked so proud and happy when preggy!

I am easily pleased. That’s the truth. I don’t ask for too much but just a quiet time for me when I need to hear myself think and some pampering here and there. Right now I have lodge furniture in mind, a fireplace, a good book and a blanket, and some peace and quiet. That will be bliss for sure!

If you live with a couple of people under one roof, trust me, you get the urge to find a rock where you can hide under so you can tune out the noise that gives you a splitting headache! A day away somewhere. That’s what I want now.

I do wish I can. But with a kid to take care of and work that needs your constant presence or else…

I can’t imagine what the person who created this costume was thinking of. Can you imagine yourself wearing a costume that pokes fun at Anorexia? That was clearly the intent of the Anna Rexia Halloween costume. It features a black dress with a skeleton painted on it and a tape measure at the waist. The heart on the chest says “Anna Rexia.”

Totally inappropriate considering there are so many women out there battling this eating disorder, struggling and some are losing battle as I write this post.

I do wish people can be more sensitive to issues that women are facing all over the world.

Talks about love… and then some. It’s now talks about settling down and babies!

My friends and I were talking about the baby boom among our other friends. Talks came down to maternity clothes and how those are now fashionable whereas before you just buy a large dress and that’s it. We discussed getting pregnant out of wedlock versus getting pregnant already wed. We also touched on the mortality rate of marriages nowadays.

It was a chaotic discussion filled with wonderful insights of the different stages of a woman’s life. How I wish I could have recorded it and kept it for future reference.

With all the talks about love and seeing as to how happy my friend is, thoughts of finding the right one came to mind again. I told my best friend about it and she suggested I try out and start with a free dating online site. And I said, why not? There is more to gain and nothing to lose!

I haven’t been around the dating scene for years. I’ve been so focused on work I forgot to tend to my love life. But this time around, I think I will try to shift some of my focus to finding the right man for me. Someone who can take care of me and love me for who and what I am.

I was once a teen and I know the feeling of wanting to grow up fast and step out into the world to work and become independent from the parents. But I am only talking about studying hard so I could graduate right away to work. These days, teens are growing at a faster rate. Physically. Look at this 15-year-old Kendall Jenner, younger half-sister to reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

The teen celebrity looked so grown up with her glammed-up look! But in her first photo where she was fresh-faced, she still looks like her 15-year-old self. Kendall is just an example of teens who are trying to age their looks and not enjoying the youth that so many adults are trying to get back.

All teenaged girls like to grow up and become a woman so fast that I don’t think they are enjoying their youth anymore. And when they turn 40, 50, 60, they try to get back the youth they already left behind. Sigh.

Enjoy what you have now. Those young taut skin and fresh look will be gone soon.
