Super moms

My aunt is a working mom. She’s one of the many women that I truly admire. Imagine juggling work and being a wife and mom… it’s just easy to look at but it’s hard to do. Just last week, while in the middle of a really important preparation for a office presentation, she had to go run an errand and get spring plungers. I remember when her son, my cousin Nick, was still a baby, my aunt would spend her lunch breaks at home, breastfeeding her kid.

Working moms are super moms! You just can’t imagine how they can do things all at once and make it seem effortless. I wish I can say the same for me.

In your own skin

No matter what they say about being comfortable in your own skin, you can’t be in that zone if you are carrying so much excess weight with you. Believe me, I’ve been carrying too much weight with me for most part of my life. Although I am used to this situation and I am not as weight conscious as most people, the excess weight is still something that I want removed from me. My friends keep telling me to try weight loss pills. I am still thinking about it but since regular diet just won’t do it, I just might try it one of these days.

As I’ve said, I am not really weight conscious. But the aches and pains associated with overweight people are starting to manifest itself. That’s the motivation I need!

Perm and thinning hair

Let’s admit it, men are not the only ones who need to mind their crowning glory but also us women. If you suffering from it, get hair loss products for women. Don’t hesitate to get help.

When I was younger, I kept asking the older women in the family why they get their hairs permed all the time. They would just smile at me and continue with their conversations. Later on, I realized that it’s a way for them to camouflage their thinning hairline. I think it’s a good way to make it seem like they still have a full crown of hair. But what if even perming the hair can’t hide the hair loss anymore? Get help.

Already in place

Every thing is already in place even with the wedding decorations! Every one is excited. The neighborhood lass and a former bad boy are engaged already and will be tying the knot this coming weekend.

Every one is happy for them. The woman was assumed to be a spinster and with a hunchback. Thank goodness a renewed man found her and made her his. I don’t think you can stay here for a long time because of the spell.`

Law school

Once upon a time, my dad wanted me to go to Law School and become a lawyer. My mom was adamant in NOT letting me become one. Ever the good daughter, I compromised by passing the board exams for public accountants. My dad wanted that license while my mom wanted to become an accountant.

Too bad I don’t have the inspiration to go to Law School anymore. Gone are the days when all I could think of was pass the admission test and that’s it. Had there been lsat prep courses back in my time, I might have passed school with flying honors.

Close to the cousins

One of my older cousins asked me if I was interested in buying office furniture. He is ordering for their company and since he’s getting a discount, he also wants me to get one. The company offers quality-made office furniture and since my older cousin knows that I am acting part-time purchasing officer of the company I am working for, he wanted to know if I need anything.

I just love my cousins! I’d like to think that we are all looking out for the welfare of each other. I have two older cousins and they are both always ready to support us in any endeavor we get into. Being the third oldest cousin, I also make it a point to make my presence felt to the younger ones, particularly in their studies.

Full-time moms

Being a full-time mom is not easy. People would think that since the moms are at home and control their own time, it would be easier for them than those who go to the office. It’s wrong! They have a harder time than those going on a nine to five job. Just imagine, full-time moms need to take care if the family (husband and kids), take care of the meals, clean the house, go get sinks and run other errands when needed. Prepare and drop their kids to school. And so much more.

That’s why a few years ago when my mom was still alive, I realized just how much responsibility was on her shoulder. There’s just too many things to do every single day!

The next time you see your moms, go and give her a hug. That would mean so much to her for sure.

Getting desperate

Cousin Faye is doing everything she can to lose weight. She is getting desperate by the day. She will be bridesmaid on her friend’s wedding and it’s just two months away. She wants to look really good in her gown but because she’s overweight, she’s feeling insecure about her looks.

Good thing there are crash diets that work. She is willing to try one to lose even a few pounds before the wedding day. I just hope that Faye will achieve her goal or knowing her, she will continue to fret about her weight until the wedding day itself.

Good soul

I really admire the Mesothelioma lawyer my colleague was telling me about. I had dinner with her and she told me that the lawyer is offering her services pro bono for those who cannot afford to hire their own lawyer. I just love the fact that even though she can easily charge her clients for every hour spent on consultation and court proceedings, she opted to offer her legal services for free instead. According to my friend, it is the lawyer’s way of giving back to the society.

I also learned from someone else who knows the lawyer that she is doing this because someone close to her died from cancer.

What a good soul she is! I hope her tribe increase!

Health benefits

I need to think in terms of health benefits nowadays more than the aesthetic benefits of things. For example, why am I dieting and trying to lose weight? The main reason for me is to start living a healthy life. If I lose weight, then looking good comes naturally. I would like to believe so, especially if you’re using the top diet pills in the market.

I want to start living a healthy life. I am not after a sexy body but more of a healthy body and mind.

Brand new everything

We are looking at American Standard toilets because my aunt needs three for their brand new home. The renovation is going full blast because they want to be able to transfer to their new home by March of next year. My aunt’s only child is excited to transfer because she gets to have her own room already. Well, who wouldn’t be excited with that, huh?! Brand new room plus brand new items inside it… cool!

Holiday spirit

We just put up our artificial christmas tree. It’s less than a month before Christmas and the decorating in each house in now in full swing! Everywhere you look, there are Christmas lanterns, lights, wreaths and other festive decor hanging at houses. You can just feel the holiday spirit already. Plus, the weather has gone a lot cooler now.

I am still preparing my Christmas list. I might do my shopping this coming weekend or the week after that. How about you? House all decked out already? Done shopping?

About to exit

It seems the exit signs around the office became a premonition of sorts to Lydie. She was always seeing it lighted whenever she enters her boss’s office. For some reason, it became a fixation. Little did she know that it was actually a sign that she’s about to exit the office already.

Her boss terminated her because of poor performance. Lydie was confused because her boss was always praising her work. She went to the human resources department head and complained. Turned out her boss wanted someone, her cousin, to replace her. She was supposed to be reinstated. She opted out instead. She is now working for a much larger company under a much better boss.

Blessing in disguise

Some things can really be a blessing in disguise, you just can’t see it right away. Like the impulsive subscription to bell tv by my friend’s dad. It was spur of the moment since they don’t really need the additional monthly bill. But then because of it, they are now spending more time at home on weekends. Instead of going out or doing something to make their weekends fun, they are now bonding over family-friendly shows. Staying at home, eating home-cooked meals, and just spending time with the family… much cheaper, don’t you think?
