Day Out

MellowYellowBadge RubyTuesday

This is a great day to be out and about. The rain’s gone. Flood waters already subsided. And everyone is back to their routine.

Happy Monday everyone!

Become-What-I-think

I heard this. Have read about this. And now I’ve seen this one…

I become what I think about all day long.

This is the primary reason why I try to think of the good stuff rather than dwell on the bad ones. I know in my heart that I will imbibe all the bad stuff if I think about it. Might as well go to the good side, right?

;)

Ensalada

MellowYellowBadge

I think we all have different ways of preparing food. From where I came from, this is an ensalada. A combination of tomatoes, ripe mango and a little bit of pepper. Some put onions in it.

Delicious side dish! Great with fried or grilled fish or pork.

Happy Monday!

Am I late in greeting each one of you guys a Happy Father’s Day? Nah, just a tad bit late in the afternoon ;)

So how are you planning to celebrate your father’s (or husband’s for those married) special day?

My siblings and I plan to go out and have lunch or dinner somewhere with our dad. We are not the type to spend extravagantly on any special occasion but just enough to celebrate it. We are also not the affectionate bunch that some are but we make sure to show our dad that we love him and that he’s important to us.

May all wonderful dads in the world enjoy this special day created just for them!

One of the things that my friend and I discussed when we saw each other was how his older cousin went to a drug rehabilitation center to help himself get over his addiction to prescription drugs.

My friend was emotional as we were talking about it. Their whole family was affected by what happened. His older cousin grew up with his family and was actually living with them during his period of addiction. They were clueless! They were devastated when they learned about it. But it’s all over now. His older cousin is with his real family and is doing great.

What we concluded was that a drug dependent could be living under your very own roof right this very minute and you won’t know about it. It can happen. You really have to look deeper and see if there’s something going on for you to know.

Mini garden

RubyTuesday

My cousin has a mini garden at home that grows flowers of different kinds. He is now attempting to grow veggies, just those small ones, and we all know that it will be another success story. We didn’t even know he has a green thumb until he decided he wants the small patch of land in front of the house!

;)

I feel for my sister’s best friend. She’s been married less than a year but her husband is already cheating on her! Can you imagine that? Isn’t a newly married couple supposed to be feeling this bliss and will start being ‘normal’ again after at least a year of marriage?

Do you know what the guy’s reason for being ‘best friends’ with a woman from work? His wife is always busy! Of course, she’s always busy! How can’t she not be when she spent so much on their wedding that she has to work hard to be able to pay for the loan she got for it. The guy is an imbecile! I don’t know if he’s only pretending to be stupid or he is really that stupid to begin with. They’ve been together since high school. If he doesn’t feel like being tied to her, then why did he proposed to her in the first place?!? Why did he let her walk down the aisle to him if he doesn’t want to be married and totally tied to her?

And then to go about cheating on her and even flaunting it in Facebook. The nerve of the guy!

My friend’s daughter is still in her teens but already a very good athlete. When I dropped by to visit my friend in her house, I noticed the various sports trophies that belong to her talented daughter. I was teasing her that she’s one proud momma and it shows because she turned a corner of their living room into a display area of all the trophies and medals her daughter brought home.

She is not pressuring her daughter but she’s praying that she gets a sports scholarship in college. There’s still plenty of time to hone her talent. I told her I am sure her daughter will get that scholarship because I can see how passionate she is of her game.

Janice is busy in her clinic 6 days a week. You can always find her wearing her Marcus lab coat and you should know right away that she’s off doing her medical work. She’s actually a chemist who is out to discover cures for various diseases. She’s been at it since her college days and she is determined to discover and leave it as a legacy.

You have to admire the woman. She is never discouraged even when she thought she already discovered something only to be rejected by a reputable drug company. She will continue working in her clinic and one day, people will thank her for her determination and perseverance.

This local celebrity has a mom for a manager… and a warden! She is guarded like the national treasure 24/7. Even if the girl is already an adult and in her early 20′s at that, she still can’t entertain suitors and even get close to a guy.

No wonder the girl rebelled a little and got in a secret relationship with another celebrity. It lasted close to a year and was mostly spent/done online.

Isn’t it wrong for a mom to restrict her daughter’s access to a cellphone and to monitor her activities every single minute? Clearly, the celebrity is being treated as a prisoner by her own parents!

There is a thing called protection. But what these celebrity parents, particularly the mom, do is not protection anymore! It’s called suffocation and people can see through the motives of the mom. Her daughter is their cash cow and, of course, if she finds herself in a relationship, she might start getting ideas about settling down and stuff like that. The celebrity parents don’t want that. Where will they get their cash milk from if that happens?!?
