There is something idyllic in having a wooden swing set at home. Maybe it’s just me and my childhood dream of having one in the backyard. I just find it like a postcard setting to have a swing set in sight.

We used to have a neighbor with a swing set in their backyard. I remember my sisters and I used to look over the fence and see the kids playing. Or sometimes an adult sitting there. It’s a thing we envied about the neighbor and something that we thought we’d get once we start working.

Maybe that’s the reason behind this idyllic setting I have in mind.

There are already mother’s day presents 2011 for all of us to choose from. I can’t wait to shop! Unfortunately, I don’t have a mother anymore to give a gift to. I do have mother figures in my life who deserve special gifts from me.

I want to give my favorite aunts something that will relax them. A spa gift voucher, perhaps. I want to give my close mom-friends something special, too. I don’t know what yet but I will get them gifts. A token of appreciation for being the moms that they are.

I haven’t seen my girl friends from college in a while. I am thinking of giving them spa gifts when I see them next week. We are going to meet up over dinner at one of the friends’ houses and will be spending overnight there.

I haven’t seen them in a while because we are all very busy with work. Plus, some of my friends are already with kids so spending time away from them is really a big sacrifice. But we all decided to spend a night at a house so that we can catch up and bond again.

I met a lady-blogger by accident. It was a couple of years ago. Someone we both know sent out a mass email, a chain email actually, to a lot of people and we were included in it. She got mad and reacted, sending out a reply to the sender telling her to stop sending out unsolicited emails to people she barely knew. She had a point but I also got annoyed because she could have sent the reaction directly to the sender but instead she sent it out as a reply to ALL!

I emailed her directly, telling her to be kinder to others. The sender didn’t intend to annoy her or anybody else to whom she sent out the chain email to. She got annoyed with me for interfering and she called me names. I was laughing at her emails and told her she was acting like a child. She called me more names and before we knew it, we were both laughing at our email exchange! It was a very unusual start to a friendship but we became friends after that email exchange.

All because we were sent a chain email to!

I used to practice a different profession before I figured I wanted to write. So I did and stopped my old practice altogether. I am happy with the choice I made. But then lately, I realized that I want to go back to the corporate world but I don’t want to go back to my old practice. I am thinking of taking up an it degree.

Why am I choosing an it degree to take up and practice after? That’s because I’ve always wanted to be a really tech-savvy person. I love codes, tinkering with web sites and cpanels, programming, troubleshooting, everything! I want to learn about software development and more.

That’s why it’s the degree of my choice. And that’s what I’m going to practice when I go back to the corporate world.
