In love once again

1340_a

Shei is in love once again. A guy she’s getting to know for the past months now just gave her a lovely heart pendant necklace. Since she really likes the guy already, she accepted the pricey gift. Shei is known to be the girl who refuses gifts from men, unless she’s in a relationship with the guy or like the current apple of her eyes.

I just know she’ll say yes to the guy if and when he asks her to go steady with him. I wish them the best! :)

My sister the bridesmaid

My sister needs the best weight loss pill so she can lose weight fast. She will be her friend’s bridesmaid in her upcoming wedding by September. My sister who teaches at a Chinese school gained weight due to the fact that their school serves free meals. She loves the food being served so you can just imagine how much she eats at school.

She’s exercising daily. Body combat and body jam every morning. I hope she loses weight because I want my sister to look good in her bridesmaid gown.

Haggard looking president

Have you seen the president on her State of the Nation Address? Someone should give her beauty consultant a copy of the best eye cream reviews so she can advise her what eye cream to use. Her eye bags bothered me a lot! It doesn’t matter if I don’t like her as a president. As another woman, I just can’t stand the fact that the highest ranking woman in the country looked haggard and had dark circles under her eyes. Lack of sleep? Too much worrying?

Her beauty consultant needs some reprimanding!

Working mothers

Once again, I would like to say how much I admire working mothers out there. Thinking of work as well as things at home. Some moms even do all the household chores after office hours! My friend, who works in a multinational company just gave birth to her first baby. She told me that being a mother is a very big responsibility, one that entails maintaining the household and even minding when to change the outdoor lighting and have the lawn mowed. My admiration for these women keeps increasing over time. I don’t know if I will become a mother in the future. But if ever, I know that I have already learned a lot from the mothers I know. Lessons I can use when I become one as well.

Waiting for the one

shoe

She left her shoe somewhere, thinking it might bring her the one she’s waiting for. I am just wondering if it’ll happen…

Or the other shoe will be lost forever.

A gift and a backup

I am saving up to be able to buy two netbooks. One for my brother and the other one for me. My brother’s been asking this from me as a gift for his coming birthday. So if I have enough money by then, I can grant his wish. The other one will serve as a backup for me. And one I can use when I am out of the house. I want one I can easily use while inside an internet cafe or when I am in a wifi zone.

Seeing my friend

I might be seeing my friend tomorrow. I will be running an errand for my brother. He asked me to check a ddr2 for him. I am thinking of checking it out at the cyberzone of a popular mall in the north. My friend will be going there tomorrow as well. Might as well meet up and get to have some girl talk in between running errands. This is the beauty of living in the same city. You get to set days when you can meet up at a place nearest to both of you. And then you need not worry about going home earlier than one another because you live far away. You get to talk as much as you can, even until the mall or restaurant closes down if you want.

Sheltered life

halfalive

Cocooned.

A has been cocooned all her life. Even when she got married, she was pampered, never lifted a finger except when she had to breastfeed her child. She never worked because her family came from old money and her husband was just as rich. She was living a perfect life until she learned an ugly truth… her husband was dealing with illegal activities! When he was arrested, every thing he owned was frozen, to be given back to the people he duped. Naturally, she was devastated. Her parents are getting on their years and their riches were either used to finance their medications and several trips to the hospital or was wasted in a networking scheme.

She was faced with the hard facts of life. She needed work to support her child. She could not depend on anybody else now. So she did. She slowly learned all on her own. And A is now standing tall, having overcome her “incapacity”. She is now a legitimate businesswoman. She owns a pastry shop and has a local pharmacy to her name. I forgot to mention that she’s a licensed pharmacist and a pastry fan! She used the things that she knew by heart and love the most.

She’s come out of the sheltered life she lived and has emerged triumphant.

Tongue-knotted and tangled

I once loved public speaking. Back in elementary and secondary school, I loved being on the spotlight, always joining activities where I know my public speaking ability would be honed even more. But for some reason, when I was in my second year in college, I developed a public speaking anxiety. I swear I break in cold sweat every time I was asked to speak in front of the class. I never have gotten over it.

I was asked to host my best friend’s wedding reception. I declined. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it no matter how much I love my best friend. There’s no way I’d be in front of a crowd and not get tongue-tied. Possibly tongue-knotted and tangled! I couldn’t think of any reason why this happened. I used to thrive in being the center of attention…

Suspicions, gut feeling

Rai was wondering where she got the expensive unlocked phone that she sold. Rai’s wife is doing some pretty suspicious things and he wants to know the truth. He’s suspecting that she’s got a huge problem with her finances but he couldn’t do anything until he learns everything. He tried confronting her about it but she was adamant, didn’t want to tell him anything except she’s fine and can manage on her own.

My guess? Give or take six months and they’ll part ways. I know what she’s up to. I just don’t want to be the one to tattle on her. They’re both my friends. I have wanted to tell Rai about things but something’s stopping me. My gut’s telling me that I shouldn’t interfere. And I am following my instinct. I am hoping that I am right in keeping quiet about it, though.

The little girl dreams…

Deep down, she’s still a little girl who has so many unfulfilled dreams. She once wanted to become a doctor. She outgrew that dream and opted to become a writer instead. But the people around her didn’t want for her to pursue that dream. She acquiesced and became a business professional. Now, she still dreams of becoming a published writer. Or someone who makes custom software. She enjoyed her stint with a company where she’s the chief Oracle user. She fancies herself a tech-savvy person but she still has a lot to learn.

The little girl in her still wants to explore the world outside her box. Here’s hoping she still has more than enough time to do that…

She used to be The Terror.

angry-old-lady

The Terror... no more!

When I was a little kid, I used to be scared of my great aunt. She was very strict and didn’t want us running around the house while the old folks were taking their siesta. She just wanted for us to be quiet in a corner or at the terrace where we could not disturb anybody. Of course, being the kids that we were, hyperactive and all, we would sneak in some games every now and then, with one of us on the lookout for my great aunt.

We normally play chess, our very own gummi bears hide and seek, or take turns with my cousin’s game and watch. We used to call my great aunt The Terror. And would tell stories on how we outsmarted her.

But looking back, we all knew deep in our hearts that she just didn’t want for us to be hurt while there’s no adult to oversee us. We were just kids who couldn’t contain our love for games.

I can appreciate her more now. She’s already in her senior years. And she smiles and laughs a lot more now than when she was still younger looking for so many precocious kids, me included. She’s no longer The Terror. But the mild-mannered old lady who now has a ready smile for the kids who had grown up already.

Custom party invitations

Party Invitation

Party Invitation

I just attended a birthday party. It was a blast! I brought along our little kid and if it weren’t for the next party about to be held at the venue, the party wouldn’t be breaking up. Kids were running around the place with nary a care for the world.

What I love about the party aside from the upbeat program was the birthday party invitations. It was custom-made, with the birthday girl’s photo on it. Instead of the usual birthday invitations you get, you can keep it and make it a special reminder of the little girl who turned one.

The Party Birthday Invitations, according to the party planner, are from http://www.express-invitations.com which also offers uniquely design invitation cards that can be printed and shipped right away if needed. Log on to the web site, choose from the designs they offer, customized it, and within an hour, expect to receive the proof for you to approve. Then you can have the cards printed and shipped on the same day. Order the minimum required and they’ll throw in 10 free cards.
