Hey guys!

Can I ask a favor from you? Can you help me get my blog ranking back? Can you link me up to your blog so I can get a boost?

I would really appreciate all the help I can get. Let me know if you’ve linked me up and I will do the same right away. Rest assured that we will both benefit from the link exchange. Your blog will get a ranking boost as soon as I get mine back.

Thank you!

Our mailman

My Uncle Walt got his Visa reward card yesterday. He was happy because he was really waiting for it and he told the mailman about it. In our area, we are lucky to have our mailman. He’s been our mailman for two decades now, if I am not mistaken. He knows what should be prioritized and if it’s unsafe to leave the mail unattended. A couple of times we had very important mails coming in and he was there to deliver it safely.

I don’t think all mailmen are like him. Every holidays, the whole community would give him gifts and we really show him how much we appreciate him and his honest work.

Introduced to a good-looking guy

My cousin told me that she would introduce a good-looking guy to me. Let me tell you something: my cousins are worried that I might grow old alone. Since I am 30-something already, they want me to find someone I could be with. I just let them. If the guy’s for me, then so be it. If not, it’s fine with me.

So back to the guy… He was introduced to me last weekend. He would have been really good-looking after he remove acne scars on his face. It distracts from his good looks! But my cousin was right. Acne scar aside, he was tall, dark and handsome.

Too bad he was not meant to me.

Once in a Lifetime by Danielle Steel

It only happens once,
not twice
the moments vanishing
like mice,
scurrying past,
life much too fast,
and only for the very brave,
the strong,
the true,
and when the moment comes for you
don’t let it pass you by,
for in the twinkling of an eye,
the love is gone,
the moment is dead.

an empty ringing
in your head,
your heart will know
when fate has whispered
in your ear…
oh, never fear,
beloved friend,
for in the end,
it’s worth the price,
the fee,
the cost,
when all is lost,
but love is won,
when true love comes,
there is but one.

Plus proper diet and exercise

I was asked by a friend if I know the fastest way to burn fat. I said I don’t. But that there are products out in the market that offers exactly that. The product should always be aided by exercise and diet, of course. You can’t just take a diet product and then binge on food after. That can’t be done!

I remember there’s someone I know who was angry with a diet product she took because according to her, she’s not losing weight. When she detailed her daily routine, that’s when she said that she’s eating more than usual! And that she’s not even exercising. So how could she lose weight?

Exercise, proper diet and the product that will be fast in burning fat. Now that’s a lethal combination!

More options for women

Women today are luckier compared to the older generation. Before, when you had acne, your option was just to wash your face with soap and water and put as much powder on it as possible when you go out of the house. These days, there’s the best acne treatment you can avail of. There are products you can use. There are experts you can consult with.

This generation is just luckier in terms of options in making oneself more beautiful. There were no beauty products before and if there were some, it was surely extremely expensive. So we should be thankful there are options for us women now. Right?

Father and son beggars

When you know that a beggar is just acting out and is just fooling every one but you still gave him alms, are you actually committing a sin wherein you are enabling the beggar to continue fooling everyone around?

I keep on wondering about this. A beggar is acting out that his son is invalid. The son is clearly a special kid but a lot of people already said that the kid can actually walk. The beggar, the kid’s father, curses out loud when they’re not in their “roles” and they would even walk smugly down the road. The father and son tandem can be seen in Quiapo Church, Baclaran Church and most recently, the Sto. Domingo Church. It is at the last church where I see them every weekend. I just can’t stomach how the father is using his son to beg for money. He would even stand up when it’s the offertory already, silently forcing those near them to give them the money instead of giving it to the church. I wouldn’t have any problems with that normally but since I know that the father and son beggars are just fooling the people giving them alms…

There are beggars who look stronger than a horse. I don’t know why they insist on begging when they can find work instead. The father/beggar I am talking about looked to be strong and healthy. Imagine carrying his “invalid” son on his shoulders when the kid is clearly overweight, possibly around 150 pounds. Isn’t that as healthy as a horse???

Up Close and Personal

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn’t speak
You were my eyes when I couldn’t see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach
You gave me faith ‘cause you believe
I’m everything I am because you loved me.

One of the best movies I’ve watched! Up Close and Personal. The story was so powerful and the love shown was something we all strive to have.

Who wouldn’t want someone to love us so much that he is willing to do everything in his power to shelter us from the harsh realities of life? Who wouldn’t want someone who will take care of us and protect us from the bad things that can harm us?

I want that kind of love. I want that someone.

Intermittent connection

I am so sorry my dear Entrecard friends! I was not able to drop for the past two days due to the typhoon that hit the city of Manila. All communication lines were shut down, affected by the very strong winds brought on by the typhoon Basyang. Electricity was cut off as well. In some places, there wasn’t even water supply.

I got my DSL connection working again as soon as we got back our electric supply. Unfortunately, intermittent connection prevented me from dropping.

Anyway, it seems the internet connection is quite steady now. I am keeping my fingers crossed so I can start dropping cards again.

Happy Friday to all!

Hometown boy

Ron went back to his hometown expecting to see the same lackluster place that he left some eight or so years ago. He was in for a surprise! The place looks like a metropolitan center already. There are high-rise residential places, steel buildings, and a sprinkling of new commercial establishments around. You wouldn’t even know that more than eight years ago, the place looks deserted and miserable.

Ron is thinking of staying. He is excited with the place and the possibilities it now offers. I do think that besides the excitement and possibilities he’s talking about, it still boils down to Ron not being able to take out his hometown in himself. It’s still there and just waiting to be awakened once more.

New Version of You

In Felicity, the main character relocated to another state after high school graduation so she could be near the man she had a huge crush on. In her quest to be close to the man of her dreams, she discovered a new version of herself. She realized that she’s more than just a country lass. She’s actually capable of being a great woman. And so she got to understand herself more with each and every person she’s met and became connected with over the course of her college life.

She realized that she relocated primarily for the man she had a huge crush on. But the underlying reason why she moved away from the place she’s grown up at was because she wanted to prove to herself that she could be so much more than she could ever dream of. And that there’s more to life than the four corners of where she came from.

My couch

I am a couch lover. I just love those comfy modern couches I see on print and in person. My sister and I went to a home department store a few weeks ago and I saw a couch that spoke to me directly. I am still saving up for it and it’s still there on display. Soon, I will be owning it and marking it with my own stamp, my big butt! Ha-ha!

Seriously, I love to own that couch. I can see myself sitting on it, tapping on my laptop keyboard and just spending the night on it working.

Gifts galore

She is one of those women who love to ask for gifts from their partners. She already has a dozen watches she can choose from but she still asked for a Panerai from her boyfriend. She also asked for shopping money so she can go out with friends later to shop for clothes and shoes. Her boyfriend also gave her a designer bag on their last out of town trip to celebrate their anniversary.

I don’t think it’s healthy anymore, giving in to her every whim. By the time her boyfriend realizes what a leech she is, she’ll be gone with most of his savings already. Poor guy.

Little cozy space

I visited a friend the other day. I didn’t know how small her studio type apartment was until I saw it with my own two eyes. It was small! It can only fit a small sofa bed, some bean bags on the floor and tv stands she uses as a dining table, laptop table, and side table all in one.

But it’s cute and my friend did justice to the little space she has. I love the coziness of the space. It also doesn’t feel cramped because she opted to use space savers instead of the usual home items. I wish I can do the same in my bedroom.
